My love of fashion came from my parents. They never wrote off a career in the arts, instead, they encouraged it. My parents each have their own distinct styles and non-traditional careers. Watching them helped me find my way to fashion.

I started taking sewing classes in grade school, where I learned how to construct my own garments. After gaining an understanding of fashion design, I continued building my own curriculum by studying as many aspects of the industry as possible, including business, writing, and history.

At Notre Dame, I’ve continued this work through my role as creative director of Strike Magazine. Through the intersection of business and design, we’ve been able to engage our audience and build a presence on campus. Through clothing, layout, and writing, we are able to evoke emotions and ideas that are important to our readers.

These experiences have shaped how I approach fashion to understand the value and emotions objects hold. I hope to continue to learn as much as I can from my Notre Dame professors and Thom Browne.
